Scientist John Stanisic has found a new species of tree snails. This extreamly rare snail has so far been found in three locations in far north Queensland at high altitudes which is quite unusual for land snails. The snail has been named the Crikey Steveirwini for its khaki colourd stripes.

John Stanisic said the khaki colours on the stripy tree snail reminded him of the trademark shirt and shorts worn by Irwin .
